Sunscreen is essential in any skincare routine. It is the #1 anti-aging product, and it is our best weapon in the fight against skin cancer. No matter what peptides, serums, retinols, and creams you add to your routine, if your routine ain’t got no sunscreen, then your routine is straight trash because those products will never be effective if you’re not also protecting your skin from the harmful effect of the Sun.
It has taken me a while to find the sun protection that works best in my routine, and as the title suggests, my sunscreen faves come from the Supergoop! brand. What I love most about the Supergoop! brand is their focus on sunscreen and only sunscreen. As the brand tells the world, Supergoop! is the only prestige skincare brand that is 100% dedicated to suncare and making it easy for everyone to incorporate suncare in their daily routines. That’s why I have been using Supergoop! for all my suncare needs for over a decade!
Throughout this time, there have obviously been a few misses, but there have been plenty of hits. Today, I am giving a full review of the Supergoop! products I’ve used and providing the ins and outs on some of Supergoop!’s sun protection superstars and some hidden gems that are waiting to be discovered. Obviously, I haven’t tried all of what Supergoop! has to offer, but this is one helluva start if you are looking for some Supergoop! products to try.
Advanced Anti-Aging Eye Cream Sunscreen with Oat Peptides

If you are looking for a day eye cream with sunscreen, then the Supergoop! Advanced Eye Cream Sunscreen could be part of your routine, but there are caveats. First, this is a mineral sunscreen, so there will be a white cast on deeper complexions … unless you wear makeup to cover it. Second, this eye cream is no longer available on the Supergoop! website. Buyers will either have to make due with the Supergoop! Bright-Eyed 100% Mineral Eye Cream or will have to look for the Advanced Eye Cream on Amazon or at the FSA Store, which is where I purchased it. The main positive is this tube lasts FOR-E-VER! Glow Oil SPF 50
The Glow Oil was my introduction to the Supergoop! brand. My positive experience with the Glow Oil made me want to explore more of the brand and what they had to offer.Back when I used it, the Glow Oil was known as the Sun-Defying Sunscreen Oil with Meadowfoam SPF 50, which is a ridiculously long name. Now, it’s simply known as the Glow Oil. That is the perfect name to describe how glowy my skin looks when I use this oil.
I loved using the Glow Oil as both my face and body sunscreen to give my skin the most heavenly glow. The main negative for me, and why I eventually stopped using this sunscreen oil, was the pump. Often, the pump would just stop working, and the alternative method for getting product was quite messy. Also, the bottle would sometimes leak. Like the Supergoop! Glow Stick, the Glow Oil is an excellent product with terrible packaging. Rating: Haul It
Glow Stick SPF 50
This is my absolutely favorite sunscreen for my face!! Since I discovered the Glow Stick a few years ago, it has been the only sunscreen I’ve been using to protect my face from the Sun. I have dry skin, so I am always in search of the glow, and Glow Stick lives up to its name. My face is so shiny and moisturized after using the Glow Stick. I can’t get enough of it, and I recommend it to any other melanated beauty with dry skin looking for a great sunscreen that works.
The only downside of the Glow Stick is the packaging. It is awful. You basically push up the bottom of the tube to get more product. It takes too much unnecessary time to push up just enough product, and it’s much too easy to push up so much product that you can’t screw the top back on. It is more annoying than anything, so it won’t keep me from buying it. I just implore Supergoop! to improve the packaging. Rating: Haul It
Lip Shield SPF 30

If you already have your favorite lip balm with SPF, then there’s no need to seek out the Lip Shield. Although I enjoy using the Lip Shield, there is nothing special about it. It is also on the pricey side for a basic lip balm, so I wouldn’t recommend it for my beauty budgetnistas. I didn’t mind splurging on the Lip Shield since I used my FSA funds to buy it. I would definitely repurchase because I’m a Supergoop! Stan, but I wouldn’t recommend the same for others. Rating: Clearance Bound
Lipscreen SPF 40

I didn’t get too much use of the Supergoop! Lipscreen before I had to toss it. It had nothing to do with the product itself because I love the idea of a gloss with sun protection. The reason why I can’t really recommend the Lipscreen is because one day when I was either taking out the wand or putting the wand back into the tube, the wand just snapped in half. After the snap, the product was basically useless, so I just had to toss it in the trash. Rating: Scam Alert
PLAY Antioxidant Body Mist with Vitamin C
The Supergoop! PLAY Antioxidant Body Mist is the spray version of the Everyday Lotion for me. I absolutely love using this sunscreen spray to reapply my sunscreen during the day. The spray is powerful, but the product still feels light and absorbs well into the skin. For me, this with the Everyday Lotion provides the 1-2 punch I need in my sun protection needs. PLAY Everyday Sunscreen with Sunflower Extract
If the Glow Stick is my holy grail face sunscreen, then the Supergoop! PLAY Everyday Lotion is my holy grail body sunscreen. Once I discovered this sunscreen, I refused to use anything else! Rating: Haul It
Superscreen Daily Moisturizer SPF 40

The Superscreen Daily Moisturizer is great as a 2-in-1 moisturizer and sunscreen for those who just don’t want to use a separate moisturizer and sunscreen. I have dry skin, so I had no problem with slathering cream on my face, so I wasn’t worried about not having enough sun protection. If you’re worried about not getting enough sun protection though, I would only recommend using this moisturizer during the winter time when you likely won’t be spending much time outside. Unseen Sunscreen SPF 40
The Unseen Sunscreen might have been the second product I used from the Supergoop! brand. While I do like this sunscreen, the silicone feel of it reminds me more of the Smashbox Original Photo Finish Primer, so the Unseen Sunscreen works better as a foundation primer. Personally, I really don’t want a 2-in-1 product that combines my sunscreen and makeup needs. Plus, once I bought the Glow Stick, there was no turning back. If you are looking for your sunscreen to do double duty, then I highly recommend the Unseen Sunscreen. Save your skin from the sun AND make your foundation last for the day! Rating: Haul It
100% Mineral Body Mist with Marigold Extract

As a brown-skin girl, I actively avoid mineral sunscreen because every mineral sunscreen I’ve used has made me look #casketready. Obviously, I would not intentionally purchase a spray sunscreen that comes out as a pure white layer on my rich melanin. After thinking I purchased the beloved aforementioned Antioxidant Body Mist, I was horrified when I sprayed the Supergoop! 100% Mineral Body Mist because I like to layer the sunscreen on THICC because I ain’t trying to get the skin cancers. My usual sunscreens either melt quickly into my skin or sit invisibly on my skin. The Mineral Body Mist did neither. Even after aggressively rubbing it into my skin, I was still left with the dreaded whitecast. I cannot recommend this sunscreen to anyone who is darker than Casper. Rating: Scam Alert
