Trash Talk: E is for (June 2021) Empties

It’s my favorite time of the year month when I share ALL OF THE EMPTIES I have collected since my last empties post where I shared the boatload of beauty products I finished while moving cross country from Ohio to Arizona. If you’ve seen any of my empties posts, then you know I can finish an abundant amount of products within the span of the month. As I have racked up posts, I continue to try to present them with some creativity. Hopefully, today is no exception.

  • Banila Co Dear Hydration Sheet Mask – I used two of these bad boys, and the second one was just as great as the first one. This is easily a top sheet mask for me. I will buy them for as long as they are available.
  • Bath & Body Works Anti-Bacterial Hand Spray Honolulu Sun – Love the easiness of the spray, and the scent smells like my kind of day at the beach.
  • Bath & Body Works Coconut Mint Drop Gentle Gel Hand Soap – The scent was more minty than coconut, so I wasn’t the biggest fan, but the beau still loves “The Money Soap.”
  • Bath & Body Works Winter Candy Apple Gentle Gel Hand Soap – Now this is my kind of scent! Winter Candy Apple continues to be one of my favorite B&BW scents.
  • Carolina Herrera Good Girl Eau de Parfum – Although I like the spiciness in this scent, I prefer Good Girl Légère, which is already in my collection.
  • Caudalíe Vinoperfect Radiance Serum – Since this was a foil sample, there was definitely not enough product to see a difference in my skin. At $80 for a 1 oz bottle, I am not willing to take a chance on this.
  • CeraVe SA Lotion for Rough & Bumpy Skin – This month, I went back to the lotion since the cream was out of stock. The product is good. I just don’t like how quickly I go through this tiny bottle.
  • Clinique Take the Day Off Cleansing Balm – A classic makeup remover that I always go back to when it’s on sale.
  • COVER FX Water Cloud Primer – This feels light and airy like a cloud and lays quite nicely under my foundation. I only used it with the CoverFX Natural Finish Foundation, so I’m not sure how it would work with another brand. I am also not sure about those blue light defense / anti-pollution claims. They sound gimmicky.
  • The Crème Shop Retinol Face Mask – I can’t remember where I bought this, which sucks because I really liked it. If I ever find it again in the wild, I will make sure to buy at least 2!
  • Dove Dry Spray – The Dove Dry Spray is an empties staple, but the Soothing Chamomile is a new scent for me. I really liked the scent and would repurchase.
  • Dove Instant Foaming Body Wash – When my usual creamy Shea Butter with Warm Vanilla Dove body wash wasn’t available, I decided to try the foam version of my favorite scent. Whew chile … this was a BUST! I wasn’t a fan of the foam, and it had none of the vanilla and shea butter scent I love.
  • Dr. Jart+ Ceramidin Cream – It’s hard to find a moisturizer good enough for my dry skin that comes in a tube, but this Dr. Jart+ cream fit the bill. It has a thick, rich texture, but still absorbed quickly into the skin. The only down side for me is the price.  I got this in a holiday kit with a sheet mask for less than the price of one tube.
  • E.L.F. Hydrating Camo Concealer – I had to try this after all the YouTube booty gurus were raving about it and its big sister the original Camo Concealer. For a drugstore brand, this stuff is really good! If I didn’t already have a buttload of concealers already in my stash, I would have already bought another one.
  • E.L.F. Total Face Sponge – I was super sad when it was time to toss this sponge. I fell in love with it immediately. I love how soft and squishy it is and how well it fits in all the contours of my face whether I’m applying powders or liquids. The price is probably the best selling point. For less than $10, I can get a sponge that I love just as much as a BeautyBlender.
  • Essence Makeup & Baking Sponge – Compared to the E.L.F. sponge I was just praising, this Essence sponge was pure trash. It’s not that it was a terrible sponge. It’s just that it didn’t really work for me. It absorbs too much product. The shape didn’t work for me, and even after cleaning it with the BeautyBlender Charcoal Solid Soap (which gets any sponge clean), the sponge still looked dirty.
  • Estēe Lauder Advanced Night Repair – After using both foil and deluxe samples, I can honestly say that I do not get the hype around this product. It has an earthy, patchouli smell that I absolutely hated, and it felt like any other serum I’ve bought for half the price and thoroughly enjoyed.
  • Fenty Beauty Full Frontal Mascara – I love mostly all things Fenty, but I am sorry to say this mascara is not one of them. With a brush designed to get volume and length on every single lash, I expected to have some va-va-voom, but even with lash primer, this gave me nothing. I’m glad I got this as a sample because paying over $20 would have pissed me off.
  • Florence by Mills Swimming Under the Eyes Gel Pads – These are the cutest eye pads ever! The only thing I don’t like are the little dots that seem unnecessary. There is always plenty of serum from the first set to the last, and they stay in place under my eyes. These only cost around $20 and are better than eye pads I’ve bought from prestige brands.
  • Formula 10.0.6 Save My Sole Rescuing Foot Scrub – Since I discovered this in a holiday kit, I haven’t used any other foot scrub. I like that it’s creamy, so I can apply it directly to my pumice stone then go to town on my rough soles. This is another very affordable product that works better than some expensive foot scrubs.
  • Gisou Honey-Infused Hair Wash – I really just love the aesthetic of this entire brand, but the shampoo was not as moisturizing as I hoped it would be for something that is supposedly infused with honey.
  • Gucci Bloom Eau de Parfum – Bleck! I like a floral scent if it’s not too floral, and Gucci Bloom is much too floral for me.
  • Hempz Herbal Body Moisturizer (Goji Orange Lemonade) – I really like the Hempz formula, but I wasn’t a fan of this particular scent.
  • Indie Lee CoQ-10 Toner – I absolutely love this mist! This stuff is pricey, so I only buy it during a sale.
  • The Inkey List Tranexamic Acid Night Treatment – Used this serum to help even out the skin on my knees and elbows. I didn’t see any amazing results, but it’s a decent serum for the price.
  • Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cleanser – A gentle cleanser that works well for a second cleanse. I don’t use it all the time, but I always enjoy using it when I do.
  • Lancôme Cils Booster Lash Revitalizing Serum – This serum is ridiculously expensive, and I am not sure if it works. I might repurchase, but it’s likely I won’t … unless there is a sale or something.
  • Lancôme Génifique Youth Activating Concentrate – It’s impossible to see results from just a foil sample, but the serum itself was okay. I’m not sure it’s worth the price though.
  • L’Occitane Immortelle Hydration & Glow Sheet Mask – I really liked the milky serum, but the mask was too small for my ginormous face, and I didn’t enjoy the floral scent.
  • L’Occitane Mineral Moisture Mask – This is among my favorites of the products I’ve tried from the brand. It feels cooling, refreshing, and hydrating on the skin.
  • Makeup Revolution Cut Crease Canvas – I can’t do a cut crease to save my life, so I used this as an eyeshadow primer. The product was okay, and I absolutely hated the applicator. This is a no re-buy for me.
  • Makeup Revolution Liquid Highlighter – This was mostly a hit for me. The Rose Gold worked well both mixed with my foundation and layered underneath it.
  • Milk Makeup Hydrating Oil – Despite being anti-Milk Makeup, the deal at TJ Maxx was too good to pass up for a budgetnista like me. I did like this product, but I would only think about buying it again if it was once again on sale for $10.
  • Olay Regenerist Regenerating Cream Cleanser – My excitement turned to disappointment when I started using this cleanser and found out it includes micro exfoliating beads, which I don’t want in my everyday cleanser.
  • Olay Regenerist Retinol 24 Night Serum – This retinol serum is very gentle, but it may be so gentle that I don’t really see any results.
  • The Ordinary Multi-Peptide Serum for Hair Density – After one bottle, I haven’t noticed any increased density. I’m not sure how many more bottles I would have to use to see results. Maybe I will give this another try in the future.
  • Origins Hello, Calm Relaxing & Hydrating Face Mask – I absolutely love this mask! The earthy scent is relaxing, and I like how it’s a mud mask that doesn’t feel dry on my skin. I would absolutely purchase this mask again.
  • Pattern Leave-In Conditioner – I like the texture of this conditioner and how it works for my hair, but I absolutely hate the Pattern signature scent.
  • Peach & Lily Glass Skin Veil Mist – I really, really love this lightweight mist. I use it during several steps in my routine, so I can go through a bottle very quickly. Therefore, I will only buy this mist when it’s on sale.
  • Practk by Sigma Beauty Liquid Brush Cleanser – Meh … this ain’t got nothing on the BeautyBlender Liquid Cleanser, but it was decent enough for a brush cleanser I found at TJ Maxx.
  • Pür Iconic Glow Illuminating Face & Body Dry Oil – I originally purchased this as a primer, but hated how it made my foundation look. Even as someone with dry skin, this made me look extra greasy. I absolutely loved it as a face oil to use during my daytime skincare routine. However, it’s a one and done because it’s no longer sold at Ulta.
  • Sephora Aloe Vera Face Mask – Sephora makes really good sheet masks, and this is no exception.
  • Sephora Coconut Face Mask – Not only is this a great sheet mask, but it smells so good! This is definitely worth purchasing over and over again.
  • SeroVital Hair Regeneres Softgels – After a couple of bottles, I noticed my nails growing like crazy, but not much in the hair department.
  • Shea Moisture Coconut & Cactus Water Quench & Refresh Bar Soap – This is one of my favorite soaps from the brand. It smells like what you hope the beach would smell like.
  • Shea Moisture Manuka Honey & Yogurt Hydrate + Repair Split End Balm – This balm smells delicious, but it was too thick and heavy for its intended purpose of greasing my scalp. It worked better as a final sealant using the L.O.C.O method.
  • Shiseido Benefiance Wrinkle Smoothing Eye Cream – This was a really moisturizing eye cream that my dry skin quickly soaked up. It’s too rich for my poor behind, so the full size will remain on the shelf until I can get a deal.
  • Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer Radiance – I wasn’t a fan of this primer. I enjoyed the glow it left, but I didn’t not like how thick and sticky it felt when I rubbed it into my skin.
  • Sol de Janeiro Bom Dia Bright Cream – SDJ has finally come out with a new cream to rival the beloved Bum Bum Cream! I love the scent of the Bum Bum, but I’m ready to knock it over while I run headfirst toward the Bom Dia.
  • Sol de Janeiro Brazilian Crush Body Fragrance Mist – This started off smelling just like the Bum Bum Cream, but by the end it just smelled like alcohol. The Cheirosa scent was just gone. Next time I will stick to the smaller size. Hopefully, it won’t lose its scent.
  • Supergoop! Glow Screen SPF 40 – If you like a little extra glow from your sunscreen, this is that girl!
  • Supergoop! Play Everyday Lotion SPF 50 – This is my one and only body sunscreen. I can use the Coola spray in a crunch, but this is my forever go-to.
  • Ulta Beauty Holiday Party Animals Hydrating Sheet Mask Kitten – Like the Unicorn mask, this is a good hydrating mask. Unlike the Unicorn mask, the print was more as expected.
  • Urban Decay Naked Skin Color Correcting Fluid – The peach shade is perfect for my under eye darkness.
  • Urban Decay Primer Potion Honey – I absolutely love this primer! It gives a beautiful golden shimmer base. I’m sad this is a limited edition primer, but I was more than ecstatic to find it on sale at Nordstrom Rack. Despite wanting to buy all of them, I only bought one.
  • Versace Bright Crystal – I always forget how much I love this fragrance until I wear it. This was a sample, but I actually have a full size bottle in my collection. I can’t even describe this fragrance profile. It smells like a mix of sweet, fresh, and floral, and I love every bit of it.
  • Viktor & Rolf BonBon – Not only is this a beautiful bottle, but BonBon is a lovely fragrance. Here is another one where I have a full size bottle. This is all caramel, sugar, and candy. Only those with a serious sweet tooth should check for this perfume.
  • White Barn Rose Water & Ivy Gentle Hand Soap – I will never not have this soap in rotation. If you love the smell of fresh roses, then this is the hand soap for you.
  • Wishful Thirst Trap Juice HA & Peptide Serum – This was a nice enough serum for me, but I’m not going to pay almost $50 for a hyaluronic acid serum.
