Audiobooks + Me
For the busy person who is always on the go and never has the time to sit down with a good book, audiobooks are a great way to read the latest best-seller and even a few classics. Although I absolutely love the idea of audiobooks, I have never been able to get into them. For me, it’s about being a visual learner. My brain comprehends the story better when I can see the words. However, I had the opportunity to put my feelings about audiobooks to test with in60Learning. Thanks to in60Learning for allowing me to share my experience with you!

No Change in My Game
in60Learning provided me the opportunity to test “read” Alexander the Great. Honestly, it took me a couple of attempts to get through the book because I was immediately turned off by author’s voice. Although I love that accent, the author’s voice felt too monotone. Maybe I need more pep in my audiobook narrator. I may have learned a fact or three about Alexander the Great that I didn’t know prior to in60Learning, but if you asked me about any of those facts, my mind would probably draw a blank. It looks like this experience has proven once and for all that it is difficult for me to retain information through audiobooks. However, I think the Alexander the Great audiobook is great for someone who prefers audiobooks and wants a boost of knowledge that can help them win the yellow wedge during the next game of Trivial pursuit.
Overall Opinion
in60Learning does an admirable job of providing a lot of information within a reasonable time frame. However, Alexander the Great was a difficult “read” for me since I am not a huge fan of audiobooks, and the topic of Alexander the Great is not of real interest to me. Anytime you have to start and stop a books multiple times, that is the ultimate sign of a difficult read. For me, it is most likely due to the subject matter in conjunction with the medium in my case. However, this audiobook is great for any history buff or fan of Alexander the Great to be entertained and educated during their daily commute. Rating: Laborious Literature
